Some Information about Tennis Strings
To get the best out of your racquet the choice of the right tension is as important as the choice of the racquet frame you use. As a general rule: the harder you string the less power you get and the more control you have. With lower tension you gain more power but lose some control.
Pre stretching your strings when restringing your racquet can help keep the desired tension in them for longer. To see the effects different string tensions and diameters can have on your racquet's performance use the following tables:

To increase the durability of your strings you should not expose your racquet to extreme heat, cold or humidity. Therefore you should always keep your racquet in its bag.
Strings lose elasticity with time, some faster and others slower. This has a negative effect on the playability and players with a sensitive arm will feel it sooner. In general you shouldn't play a string longer than 2 to 3 months before you restring your racquet.
